The Mission Viejo Nadadores Diving Team is honored to introduce Michele Mitchell, Ph.D. as the new head diving coach. She will be joining our current staff as we launch into the newly renovated Marguerite Aquatic Center in Mission Viejo, CA, which is slated to re-open in early 2018. Not only was Michele a previous Mission Viejo Nadadores national champion and two-time Olympic medalist, she has also led a storied career as the Head Coach at the University of AZ and the Tucson Diving Team. Michele was notably elected as the current Chair of the Board of Directors for USA Diving and a former chair of the NCAA Rules Committee. Her relationships in the sport are unparalleled. Her education is in English & Athletic Coaching, while her doctoral degree is in Educational Psychology. Her coaching and programming experience is lengthy, but in short she has coached NCAA Champions, Olympians, 43 NCAA All Americans as well as JO and Junior World Champions. She is even the author of a book called FACTS (Future Athletes Connecting to Scholarships), a practical approach to obtaining scholarships.
